Wiggins Island, Gladstone Fauna Crossing

Well we have done it again….. we have just finished the biggest fauna crossing in the Southern Hemisphere. These two fauna crossings span over 80 metres long.  They have been designed to go across a large conveyor belt which will be delivering coal out into the Port of Gladstone.

We have manufactured and installed these 2 fauna crossings for the protection of the endangered squirrel and sugar glider which are breeding in the bushland where this conveyor belt will be going through. Within the first day of one of the fauna crossings being installed, we noticed that there had already been activity on the crossing by seeing glider droppings.   The main contractors that we were subcontracting  for were CMC and Worley Parsons.
